As the prime contractor on this project, we administered and coordinated the project schedule with the owner and subcontractors making the project successful. The coordination between the NPS and Mechanical Inc. was excellent. This was a design and install DDC HVAC control system for the National Park Service.
This project consisted of furnishing and installing an automated control system for the heating and air conditioning units. Engineering and programming was provided to develop a new web-based graphical user interface complete with graphic screens representing the facility and the HVAC equipment. The scope of work was to furnish and install new control valves and damper actuators along with DDC controllers on six (6) existing fan coil units and then connected them to the new energy management system.

This was a project completed under an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract which started in 2006 and went through 2009. This was a maintenance and instruction contract to the Corp of Engineers. We performed the maintenance while training in-house mechanical crew.

Schnauzer Construction dba Mechanical Incorporated was the prime contractor and provided the concept design. The design eliminated odors from exhausting to the public space. This was a successful one of a kind design project and the Owner was pleased with the design and construction.

The Portland Air National Guard has numerous on-going contracts. This includes Repair of the Truck Heater Building; Building 430 evaluation of mechanical system; Building 260 repair of the mechanical system; and Building 300 evaluation of HVAC System. Mechanical Inc. designed, repaired, and replaced equipment as needed on call for the Portland Air Base.
